Artist's Description

My maternal grandmother died when I was a very young boy and I never really got to know her. As I grew up my mother would point to sunrays like these and say,"Look, those are Grandma Cohen rays!" We felt like Grandma Cohen was still with us and her spirit was looking down on us.

Walt Brodis

The Art of Healing Dr. Walt Brodis was a successful physician and an avid skier, dividing his time equally between his profession, sport, and loving family, until he was faced with an unexpected challenge. He was diagnosed with a form of mental illness called Manic Depression (Bipolar Disorder). His case was severe and he had to give up his profession as a practicing physician.
