Artist's Description

This is the artist's personal interpretation of a mood state that changes rapidly from depression to mania. This mood state is a brain disorder called Bipolar Disorder. Many famous actors, artists, musicians, painters and world leaders have suffered from this illness and yet made major contributions to society.

About Walt Brodis

Walt Brodis

The Art of Healing Dr. Walt Brodis was a successful physician and an avid skier, dividing his time equally between his profession, sport, and loving family, until he was faced with an unexpected challenge. He was diagnosed with a form of mental illness called Manic Depression (Bipolar Disorder). His case was severe and he had to give up his profession as a practicing physician. For nearly two decades he has been treated with powerful psychiatric medications and on-going electroconvulsive therapy treatments as well as being surrounded by the love and support of family and friends.
