About Walt Brodis
The Art of Healing
Dr. Walt Brodis was a successful physician and an avid skier, dividing his time equally between his profession, sport, and loving family, until he was faced with an unexpected challenge.
He was diagnosed with a form of mental illness called Manic Depression (Bipolar Disorder). His case was severe and he had to give up his profession as a practicing physician. For nearly two decades he has been treated with powerful psychiatric medications and on-going electroconvulsive therapy treatments as well as being surrounded by the love and support of family and friends.
In this process of survival and recovery, he has returned to his love for art, which he first discovered in high school and experimented with during his college days. Walt is once again able to see the world's wonderful palette of colors and creates art to help heal his troubled brain.
His art has been exhibited in Park City, Utah, Albuquerque, New Mexico and New York City.
Peace and thanks for visiting his website.
